This section describes the various settings and preparations to be performed before printer driver installation.

Checking the network connection

Check whether the computer is connected to the network. For a wireless LAN, a session must be established between the computer and the wireless router.

Depending on the selected language, correct DefaultLanguage.
Open /etc/cups/cupsd.conf with an editor and add the following line at the end:

Example: For the English system environment:

DefaultLanguage en_GB

SELinux setup (Fedora only)

Before installing the SELinux software, change the SELinux settings. Using an editor, open
/etc/sysconfig/selinux, and change the "SELINUX=" line as shown below.

SELINUX=permissive

Preparing the printer driver package

The packages necessary for installing the printer driver differ depending on which distribution you are using.

Please reinterpret it according to the driver version you are using.

For Fedora

For Ubuntu

cnijfilter2-5.40-x-deb.tar.gz
